If there's a chance

Loving is complicated
But it isn't worthless
There's disrespect in my tone
Maybe I'm good at lying

The things that you want
Being what you don't get
Leaves you with an aching scar
And a sore heart

Stitches do fix cuts
But pain can't be cut off
One threshold or another
In between but alone

I say that I love myself
Now that I think of it
I say it because I believe
No one else will love me right

I hate it when I fall
But I love to rise high
Cause it leads to all lows
Helping with my natural habitat

I'll probably grow more
My perspective might change
And if I get a fresh start
I'll try to give love a chance
