Mama

Pipi Yaa 2002 (Accra)

A creature that dwells in pain to see others happy.
She is a female called the man himself.
The husband kicks, screams, yell and throws blows at her, but her fingers still holds her child.
Even when daddy leaves home, she conquers all responsibilities.
Someone who kept you close by when you were just a clot of blood.
She had faith in you, yet she knows not your future.
She digs the soil for you to sprout.
She dozes on her feet just to see you sleep.
Until her child smiles, she knows no joy.
The word "mama" is not just a name at all. It is a responsibility to perform,
A duty to be diligent with,
A trust that is worthy enough,
A price that is above priceless,
And a life to be well lived.
Things can be difficult, Life can be threatening,
But at the mention of the word, "mama",
A deep vacuum is closed up.
Remember this," everyone can be a mum, but it is not everyone that can be a real mother"
