SJM

the world is getting darker now

the change is subtle
wisps of light slip through fingers
the chill of night creeping closer

the world is getting darker…

darkness illuminates

men

melted into monsters

the sun slips beneath its folded blanket
black and inky
hearts turn cold

in the darkness
friend and foe appear the same
confusion is our common thread

The World Is Dark.

forced to draw nearer
to the tiniest spark
visible only in the darkest of our dark

darkness illuminates

the light

is getting brighter

the change is subtle
cling desperately to wisps of light
the promise of a misty dawn beyond the chill of night

the world is getting brighter now…
