There is Light at the end of the tunnel
Suleiman Dauda Yakubu(yaksdpoet) 1991 (Bauchi)
I’m on my own, perplexed and addled
Don’t wanna mingle though I’m idle
To me that was idle
It’s no new news, it started right from the cradle
My situation, no one to handle
So I told myself, my canoe I have to paddle
From coast to coast I have to travel
I can’t see light at the end of the tunnel, so I lit a candle
To keep me awake till I win the battle
Pave way I’m fully kitted, can’t u see my riffle?
General, never relenting till I get the tittle
Distraction from friends tryna get my cage rattled
So I could loose focus and stop the hustle
But knowing one day I’m gonna bubble
I sticked to the game like a puzzle
I remained dedicated and humble
Coz the future seems bright I can’t even gamble....
Now I’m in my future
Everyone it’s me they want to feature
Though it wasn’t easy but now it’s easy
Don’t get it twisted, before gain comes pains that’s the mixture
Tears of joy gush outta my eyes when I see my picture
And remember whether or not I’m that same creature
To be who I am today, I had to pass through a lot of torture
Now I have it all I can even stretch a gesture
To different personalities of different culture
So they could elevate to a greener pasture
All I’m tryna say is dream big, start small but make sure your dream you nurture
At this juncture, I have to stop my brief lecture.
About this poem
I’ve been through a lot in life but I didn’t give up on me, I kept pushing hard despite life’s challenges, now my blue days is but history. And I decided to choose the above tittle to encourage anyone who’s kinda depressed
