Patience of Heaven

Create a world now.
See it begin anew.
Watch its parts move to and fro,
Going here, going there,
Doing what they do, this and that,
Living, breathing, loving, hating,
Feeling joy, sorrow, anger, wonder.
Wonder what will become of it?
Always Heaven watching, waiting
For me to learn to only love and serve.
Plan of my salvation in place,
Only variable, my own choice,
Live to love or die in my hate.
My decision they can not make.
That's mine alone,
To each their own.

What do I want?
The pain and sadness to just go away.
Power, money and everything for myself
May mask it all,
But to be together with the family I love
For all time and eternity
Is the heart's true desire.
Many mistakes made too often
Everywhere along the path.
Who would want one so messed up as I?
Only one way to know the truth.
Today, this choice I can make:
Live to love and serve each day.
Maybe then in Heaven someday
I can meet those who want to be with me
If I do my best to choose the right.

I'm sure sometimes I'll mess up
And want to throw it all away.
Must keep a remnant of hope
So I can have faith it will be okay.
It may not be easy,
But I believe worth every step,
Difficult and painful they sometimes are.
Since my Creator loves me so,
He came to show me how it's done
And pay the bill for my mess
I can't make alright on my own.
He beckons me to continue still
And follow as He showed me the way.
I may fall,
But finding His path again
Matters more.

Finish the work I came to do,
I must.
Do it alone,
I cannot.
There may be times when I feel lost
And do not know where to turn,
But He knows me
And the path I am on.
I will pray and look for Him as I know
He will lead me home.
His charity I am in desperate need of
Knows no bounds.
When I need Him by my side,
He is there.
If needs be,
He will carry me home.

Just keep my hope, faith
And His charity alive in my heart.
This is the key to life.
I know I will make it home to Heaven
When my journey is through.
Heaven is always watching, waiting,
Wanting me to come home.
Many tasks I have to do
Before my journey is done.
Joy, I have living to serve as my Savior does.
I still have much to learn in seeking, finding,
Walking the Master's path.
Who though, can I help know Him as I do?
All love and glory are His I know.
I, with so much,
Am bound to share.
Together, to Heaven,
Someday, we will make it there.

About this poem

I just happened to be thinking one Sunday, July 3rd, 2022, about some words that came to my mind. They were "Watch its parts move to and fro, going here, going there, doing this and that." I thought about the world in relation to these words and decided I wanted to build a poem around them.

I have always been interested in math and science along with poetry, but have had a very difficult journey with composition in general. Texting on devices changed that for me. This is my 1st serious poem, 2nd altogether. I enjoy working on my geometrical art, developing my Chess variants, playing them and playing chess as well, besides reading poetry and working on my own. Without having high functioning atypical Autism, I doubt I would have been able to achieve what I have and will achieve in my future. more…
