Death: A Friend of Mine

Death is scary and unknown but also kind and forgiving.
It shelters you from the cold and uncertainty of Life.
Death tells you that if you close your eyes for only a moment you’ll be home.
It becomes a friend who cares while Life left you to fend for yourself.
It’s more than just a way to escape burdens or the effects of a disaster,
It’s a way to find the comfort that you couldn’t find in Life.

About this poem

This is a poem about the kindness of death and how some days the thought of a peaceful end is comforting. This is not to encourage death but to teach that it isn’t an enemy, rather the last step in the long adventure of life.
