Corkscrew Avenue

Her body shouted passion
And her perfume smelt devine
While her eyes were all a smouldering
As her jewellery sparkled fire
She danced upon the table
whilst  the moon hung low to watch
And her shoes they kept on tapping
Mesmerising all of us
The men kept throwing petals
They laid a carpet at her feet
And the money lay like mountains
As she never missed a beat
She proceeded then to sing
With a sexy sultry sound
Drawing crowds from far and wide
To watch her body’s tortile fling
It was a haunting wonderous memory
Under the palest voodoo moon
On a rib rattling, click-clacking corkscrew avenue
