A Star's Fiery Dream
As a young star I burnt with passion unrestrained-
My flames danced to my wishes that never waned.
I dreamt of becoming a supernova forevermore,
But as I grew misery ate away at my hollow core.
I instead became a black hole- my life seemingly devoid of light-
Yet my flames still flicker on the inside, for dreams have everlasting might.
About this poem
Youth's fiery desires and passions eventually fade into the inky darkness as we mature...or is that perhaps what we have deluded ourselves into believing? Perhaps they never fade at all, but still reside deep within our souls' innermost chambers, waiting with the utmost faith to be fulfilled one day.
