LOVE PRAISE

love praise 1996 (Cape Town)

Something so pure and gentle

An overwhelming feeling

Mind-blowing triumph

Disturbing as it maybe

It gives hope to live again

It is the beginning of a new chapter

The partnership with another soul

It feels so unreal at first

Such a deep connection with the unknown

You remember, your parents said there is no love out there

Then immediately you shut the doors

I wish they told me something different “there is love”

I would have kept you around

Yes, I kept you in my heart

I kept you in my mind

Your soul never left

I crushed you

I betrayed you

I discarded you

I did not know how to love

You introduced something foreign to me

I came to learn that love never leaves

I will keep trying until my last breath
