Mother

Poem Title: Mother

You endured the pain of my birth
And, patiently nursed me through my childhood
Protected me in your caring shoulders

In my school, I had many teachers
You were my best teacher
Who taught me lessons in values
That are still implanted in my genes

You were always loving and caring
Irrespective of your own struggles
You balanced work and parenthood

You ensured that you were always there
Whenever I needed you.

You sacrificed your material needs
But always provided for my needs

Your tender care was priceless
Whenever I was sick and down

Oh Mother, only now I realize your greatness
After your death.
Certain relationships in life are irreplaceable
And you are one of them

May your spirit guard over me
So that we are always connected in soul and spirit.
