Life's Purpose

Life’s Purpose

If this ole world could catch a glimpse of its plight,
It would fill every soul with horror and fright.
If man could realize the result of his strife,
It would cause him to think there’s better in life.

For after all, there’s one thing that’s common,
The search for happiness is all that’s drawin’
Man to look for ways to improve his living,
But alas! See the emptiness it’s giving?

For you see, they search in all the wrong places,
Wealth, fame, power, or clothes of frilly laces.
But they find very soon that though these are lovely
The feeling soon passes, and leaves them rather ugly.

But let me tell you my friend, that happiness enters
A heart that submitted to God, and centers
On serving mankind to the best of his ability,
For ‘tis there, it will gain lasting tranquility.
