Letter To Nature
I run from the things that I love,
the people and the events thereof,
I try not to act weird when things go wrong,
to avoid the awkwardness it may bring to the world.
Nature, do you also take me for a fool?
They put blame,
paint my flaws and weaknesses as shame,
How do I get the world to love me genuinely this time?
For I truly don't know what it is to be loved wholeheartedly.
Nature, what does it take to love and to be loved?
You tell me not to worry,
Yet you give me things to keep my heart heavy, Whether this be a test or a punishment,
I would really love to be
One who worries less,
And the one you choose to bless.
Nature, give me a reason to smile.
I seem to be the happiest one on earth,
When I laugh, people look down on me,
I may be broken but
Does that mean I should walk around wearing a long face?
Nature, I'm here to tell you that mere judgments; Still won't change me.
About this poem
This poem is about the curiosity we develop along our journey towards life. When things go wrong, we tend to blame ourselves for our misfortunes, but this time we want to blame nature and figure out why things are the way they are. Also, the want to love and to be loved.
