If Only for a Moment

In a moment of pause when the earth is still and the sun rises ever so gracefully to awaken the day I feel embraced by you. If only for a moment.

The morning sun begins to spread and take a hold of every part of nature. A pleasant nudge from you says, arise, the day begins. I feel you take my hand if only for a moment.

I gaze to the sky and rays of your presence cover me. Your glory shines bright! Nothing is wrong. All is right. If only for a moment.

The evening sun now casts shadows that slowly begin to pull back. The sun begins to undress the day and the gate closes slowly. Wait, did I catch a glimpse of home? If only for a moment?

I feel that maybe I did. The grandeur of the arrival and departure of each day is the opening and closing of heaven’s  gates. And each day the sun is a beautiful reflection of the golden streets that await us. What a glorious sight. If only for a moment.
