Show It To Prove

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Walk the walk and stop the talk.
To prove what it is,
You can or can not do.
With an effort to endeavor it.
Without comparing,
Yourself to me and others too.
Who are observed trying to improve,
Mistakes to have been made.
Eliminating excuses to use,
As a way to escape...
Away from being criticized,
From every step to take.
In a direction you are afraid,
Others may not approve of doing.
That makes you the one to feel,
Outcast and unacceptable.
By the ones caring less.
How awful the mess they have created is.

Walk the walk.
Can you do this and refuse the B.S?
Or do you choose to stay,
Claiming to blame your quality of life...
Beginning to swirl,
Around and down a cesspool.
While you turn your nose up.
Like others together sitting on their butts.
With fingers pointed to the very ones,
Attempting to face...
All mistakes everyone has made.
Done to refuse to listen to,
Those who do nothing but sit.
And continue to do it.
Complaining to blame,
The ones doing more...
Than sit to point fingers at others,
Doing the best they can...
To clean up the filth and smell,
That has addicted an ignorance...
Known too well.
Yet...
Accepted as part of your heritage to pass on!
With a doing to show it to prove,
Your pride!

'Pride?
Who says we are proud of this?'

No one has to say,
What is observed and allowed to exist!
While those who blame and sit.
Accusing others,
Of seeking attention for themselves to get!

'Oh?
So now you are using reverse psychology?'

No.
We're using blood, sweat and tears.
Effort endeavored with elbow grease!
Something words to hear heard expressed,
Are better left where they are to go ignored.
