My tragedy
Jason Marriner 1980 (Pensacola)
In a moment of weakness, I let myself think it could be true
But how could a man like me ever hold onto a girl like you
I got fooled by the look in your eyes
I never guessed you'd be a devil in disguise
How easy it must have been for you
To put me, drag me, into all the hell I'm going through
Now I'm here alone with my mind
And reliving all the pain I thought I'd left behind
I'm doing my best to keep it together
But I can feel my sanity quickly coming untethered
Don't think I can't see what's going on here
I'm being strung along while another man holds you near
Everything I thought we could become
Is rapidly beginning to come undone
I must be a glutton for punishment and heartache
Because everytime I turn around I'm watching and feeling it break
I know it ain't gonna take too much more abuse
Before it just quits and from this life I'm cut loose
It's the life I chose I guess
I'm just destined to forever be hurt and distressed
Because there's never gonna be anyone who'll love me
I'm so tired of being apart of loves great tragedy
