Girl in the Mirror

Under the velvet sky- bright stars, twinkling;
autumn leaves, falling; chilly winds, blowing;
a girl laid her mat on grainy sands, wishing.
Fake smiles, flashing; big screens, showing-
all treasures, like sweet birds, singing.

Make life stories worth sharing;
a ticking bomb for all being.
Look in the mirror, her reflection, asking;
shadow casts down, "How are you doing?"
Let words travel without the feet moving.

Words dripped down, blood on her fingertips;
of a writer, alone, on winter trips.
Withered soul in cold, chapped lips;
no ring to wear, counted days on ships.
Bittersweet days, now wrinkled skins.

Closed eyes, clasped hands;
a silent prayer, unheard in mind.
Favorite clothes worn on site;
no time to stare, no room to spare;
as she breathed deep her last air.
