Miscarriage

Gill Mousa 1982 (Dumfries)

My perfect little angel, taken far too soon
I will love you forever, beyond the stars and moon
Sleep soundly now in heaven, with the Angels watching   over you
Continue to shine, amongst the stars
And show the whole world how beautiful you are
Realising that God needed you, doesn’t make it hurt any  less
Really, our hearts are broken, we need forever to convalesce
I carried you for every second of your life
And I’ll love you for every second of mine
Go spread your wings and fly my love
Enlighten the skies up above.

Until we meet again.......

About this poem

I wrote this poem on 20th June when I found out I had a missed miscarriage at 13 weeks. It was the night before I was due to go into hospital to take medication to induce my pregnancy. I needed to get my feelings down on paper.
