My Name, Your Voice

Hearing plenty of other sounds,

Plenty of distractions all around,

Objects flying past my eye,

Many people at my side,

Hearing things but not really taking them in,

My train of thought wearing thin,

Hearing my name being said by plenty of other people,

Feeling almost stuck in a hole,

I have never fully registered my name,

I recognize it but that is not the same,

I have heard plenty of people say it,

It does not matter to me one bit,

I keep think of letters like A,B, and C,

Counting how many times it is said, 1, 2, and 3,

It all is so similar,

It all is so familiar,

However, when I hear this one person say it,

I love it which is heard to admit,

I have made this choice,

It is my name, your voice.
