Forgotten

Fresh air, being able to breathe
All memories blurred, carved out of my heart.
There was nothing, I am realising that now.
An anchor, weight lifted off my chest.
Remembering who I once was, once happy before.

Back surrounded by people who love,
My breath, wasted no more.
My lips sealed, her name forever lost.
A promise to myself,
My silence, my heart not bleeding no more.
Remembering who I once was, once happy again.

About this poem

Reflecting on my breakup, having time to heal and focus on my mental health. I have come to terms how difficult of a decision, yet how happy I am for it.
