Successes Claimed

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Successes claimed to have not obtained,
Remains stories told sold by liars.
Professional experts,
Highly regarded in the field of deception.

Quick with ears,
Bigger than those of cave dwelling bats.
Awaiting for the night to fall.
Hanging upside down.
Sneaking around.
Climbing up and over fences.
Hoping to discover,
A doing of someone else...
To declare it theirs to be found.

These slick thieves,
Are out to please themselves.
With a desire to gain the credit,
From what someone has done.
With an else to conceal the stealing.
Unknown by the ones,
Who also fraud, lie and corrupt for fun.

Then protest,
Their successes are attempted to be stolen.
With this made to believe.
That those who have proof and evidence...
Of the origin produced of their deeds.
Could not possibly be,
The innovators they are.
Since if they were...
Why did they take so much time to find,
It would be to their benefit...
To moan, complain and whine.
Over something not theirs.
Known everywhere they did not create.

'Those ideas and creations you demonstrate.
Have always been ours you take away.'

'What are you insinuating we are?
Thieves, deceivers, dupers and crooks?
Who fraud the laws,
Then cook our financial books?
Who would ever believe,
Your telling of such preposterous tales?
Even if they were true!'

'Huh?'

'Clean out your ears.
What I said was...
And listen closely.
I said...
Who would ever believe,
Your telling of such preposterous tales?
Shame on you not to say what's true!'

'Oh!
But suppose it was,
Would you admit it?'

'Who do you think we are?
Your common unconscious,
Dumb as doorbell thieves?
We are skilled professionals.
With reputations.
Status.
And credibilities to defend and protect!
And you...
Have,
What?
Vivid imaginations?'
