Love Never Fails

Of all forces, the
Highest form of energy,
Above all others,
Divinely superior,
Is love of God for mankind.

It defeats hatred,
Jealousies of all natures.
It has much patience
Greater than all human faith.
Steadfast and unwavering.

Love is never rude.
Does not delight — not boastful.
Love does not envy.
Is not easily angered.
Full of hope, love never fails.

About this poem

First Corinthians 13:4-8a describes aptly the nature of divine or Godly love. This three-stanza Tanka poem amplifies that statement by positing and asserting that Godly love, known otherwise as ágape (in biblical Greek) or as ahabah (in Biblical Hebrew), is the highest form of universal energy. P.S: Congratulations granddaughter Mikaiya Beasley, on becoming thirteen years old today. Love you. ❤️
