Truth Falsified By Lies

When war is waging
And no one trusts each other,
First casualty
That aborts the hope of peace
Is Truthfalsified by lies.

About this poem

Because of the brave truthful reporting of a BBC disinformation journalist, at a time of waging warfare in the Ukraine, the world is able to sift through merciless Russian prime time TV propaganda aimed at an innocent young pregnant woman, 29-year old Marianna Vysheminsky, of Mariupol, Ukraine, bloodied by the shelling of bombs, who recently gave birth to a baby girl, Veronika, and who has been described falsely as being an “actor” serving the cause of Ukraine and pretending to be pregnant. Thanks to the reporting of BBC disinformation journalist, Marianna Spring, the truth, falsified by lies, can be brought to light. This Tanka poem is another effort to bring the truth into even greater focus and provide it with poetic justice.

This is a growing horror in our modern world, when truth is beaten down by question marks.
