The Gorgon Head

Ian McCleary 1992 (Morris Plains, NJ)

The Gorgon's eyes stare at me from all directions.
They are in the doorknobs, the chairs, and tables.
The flowers by the elevator are lifeless things their petals made from hard plastic.
I am sure it was Stheno who saw them by the wall and gave them her icy stare.
The crab who was once alive by the ocean, I am certain it was Euryale who gave him her cold looks mounting him to a stand.
