Still Like The Boy of Old

Ian McCleary 1992 (Morris Plains, NJ)

Some of the habits that have carried over into my adulthood.
Delaying my trip to the bathroom to produce number 2 because it creates a pleasant sensation holding it above the ring of my anus.
Picking my nose for boogers because it is  easier than having to always go for a tissue.
Being lost in a daze, staring at walls as if it was the desk in my middle school math class.
Going on for hours about the things that I am passionate about when no one has the attention for it.
The voice of the little teacher.
Not always being able to voice what I want to say and making noises instead or breathing heavy.
It's so funny how much of this has stayed with me.

About this poem

Some funny things I still continue doing and which may be disgusting to most people. A reflection on that.
