The Mother Earth Implores

The Mother Earth Implores!

Lonely on the side I sit,
At the end of my wit.
Hoping for some miracle.
To stop this breaking particle by particle.

O, you'll humans, let me breathe,
I beseech desperately, but inside I seethe.
I gave you my best,
But you don't leave me alone to rest.

You started spreading out everywhere,
And caught me unaware.
By the time I opened my eyes,
My problems had reached the skies.

If you don't halt your activities,
Then, in future there will be no festivities.
Land, water, air, I gave you all,
Just, promise to stop the sprawl.

Let us both give and take,
And seal the deal with a handshake.
Now, please don't break my trust.
Try to be kind, fair and just
