Let Me Love You

Neala Williams 1978 (Indianapolis)

When I first met you, I saw this look in your eyes,
I knew you were so special, I wanted you to be mine.
You were so cute, a very handsome guy,
I wondered why you chose me, I didn't think I was your type.
When I realized that I was in love with you, I couldn't let you go,
You took my breath away, but you only saw me as another hoe.
You didn't take my love for you seriously, you just treated me as if I was trash,
You could never see the real in me, you were so wrapped up in your past.
You hurt me so bad, you put me through hell,
You just played with my heart, because your past life failed.
I tried so hard to show you how much I care,
What you gave me in return was totally unfair.
You looked past all the good in me, trying to find the bad,
When I'm truly a good woman and for that it's really sad.
I hope to marry you some day, I hope you will let go of the past,
I hope we can truly be happy for once, so that our love will last.
I don't care for no other man, you are the only man I love, want and need,
I am here forever want you love me please.
I understand your pain, I am not here to hurt you,
I am not your grandmother or baby mama, I just want to love you.
