Poem #16

Drowning hopes into insanity,
hoping dreams in irrationality,
smuggling dreams into the dirt.

Dreaming they sing in love to possibility,
crunching love into the ditches,
loving for life despite lack of riches.

Whittling away life for hopeless nights of hurt,
living in tomorrow and today,
letting tomorrow seep into today.

Nothing of today’s means except in today,
letting today determine life int’ ‘morrow,
As it shouldn’t.
