MY INFERNO
Derrick E Carey 1981 (Sarasota)
So many of us
Have heard the story
Of the early bird gets worm
I'm at 5:30 a.m.
On a Saturday morning.
The sun is not even up yet..
I'm sitting on the edge of bed
Breaking up a nice bud of purple haze
Listening to Bob Marley
My redemption song
Why
I'm 18 years old
And I have two chocolate Phillis
I need to roll tight..
So they can burn really slow
As I motivate my mind for the day..
"PARADISE LOST"
Oh yeah
I live in Sarasota Florida
Just minutes from the beach
Siesta Key
And
It's going to be a nice day
Especially after i finish rolling
These tight Phillies
Chocolate Phillis at that..
I head to the kitchen
To get a jar honey
To dip my blunts inside of it
So I wouldn't have that
Bitter taste at the end..
Thinking to myself
"PARADISE LOST"
I got two blunts
Out of that nugget
Two tightly rolled blunts
Man
They are going burn very very slow
I walk back to the room
And turn my radio off
I grab my car keys
Along with my
Thermos of homemade
Lemonade
And walk out the door of the house
thinking to myself
Damn
Pop's not even up yet
I'm up before him
Now that’s unusual.
That never happens
"PARADISE LOST"
I jumped inside of
My 98 Jeep Cherokee Laredo
I let all the windows down
And pulled off
Out of the drive way..
Once I got to
The end of the block
I turned my system on
And sparked my first blunt
To Buju Banton
"Champion"
And headed to
South Siesta Key Point..
Cruising the Beach
Getting Blazed...
Oh yeah..
"PARADISE LOST"
By the time
I got to the point
The sun was
Peaking over the Horizon
I was thinking to myself
Just let the windows up
Turn on the A/C
Cause man
It's going to be hot one...
But I got that
Stay cool A/C
And man
This truck gone hot boxed
Really quick
And the beach
Is not the place for
That
I stop at the point..
I get out the truck
A warm breeze blows
As the waves crash
Against the shore
I'm already high
And
It's a beautiful sun rise
"PARADISE LOST" "MY INFERNO...."
