The sea

We hop out of the car, and shuffle down
To the seashore seeing birds dive as the waves pound
Sand swims showing shiny shells, sunlight silhouettes shadows
So we can keep our skin safe, while our clothes stay loose

Seagulls screech soaring high, they dive when chips spill
Swimsuits of all types, checkered, tied, dry,
Some wet swimsuits caress people on the caboose
As the wind picks up kites swish, swirl and kiss the sky
Sounds shape our surroundings, shells color the scenery

My brother picks up a shell and asks what’s this
Casey says a shell, you silly fish
The waves churn as firewood is gathered to burn

As the sun sets the beach changes, it suddenly breathes excitement
People store booze in coolers, they shout, sing as stereo beats shake
The air is abuzz, people gush, you can sense the lust
Guys push friends to go hit on chicks, to a background of songs and splashes
Simmering sensations submerge scenes, subtly starting savory summers
