As Spring Breaks Loose

Sixty degree weather
Sprinkles upon us as a winter warnings end
As the breeze it us
We look forward to
Cold coffee, barbecues, and ice cream afternoons
For we can feel the beginning of seasonal sadness’s end
And we watch
Leaves grow, flowers bloom, allergy season among us soon
And it gives us much to be in tune to
Like purple-pink skies, and late sunsets with the side door open
As you smoke your cigarettes, and we get drunk outside, watching the old Christmas lights
