deniliquin
jeffrey edward herbert 1945 (redhill)
have you been to Deniliquin?
along the banks of the Edwards river,
many miles from the sea,and fast flowing.
at times just like looking in a mirror.
the beach moves from year to year,
and flood waters help it on its way.
a good time foe a barbecue!
at any time of the day.
have you ever been to Deniliquin?
were you can get a good choice of food,
cooked in a splendid way,,
and the menu changed day by day.
the sun beats down in the bush,
and at times few trees are growing about
irrigation plays an important part,
as crops grow little without water.
have you ever been to Deniliquin?
a town close to Finley,
were the trains used to run!
all the way to Sydney.
now is the time you should drive,
along the roads in new south ,
such a magical place in the bush
were new ideas come alive.
would you like to go and visit Deniliquin?
close to the state of Victoria,
remember not to take fruit over the boarder,
because of the fruit fly order.
enjoy your stay in the bush,
you do not need a reason!
stay and enjoy the beauty of the towns
THE Cookaburras will make you welcome,
