as old as time —
as young as time…
passionate limestone…
passionate sandstone…
passionate gem burning…
pulsating, quivering…
cool/
(like the fiery diamond …
in celestial glow)/
warm/
(like the earthy carbon …
in fertile soil) …
living paradoxically//
with an awesome presence//
the future in the past …
of an hereafter now …
flirting with exotic universes …
far-off and even now …
mirror-imaging timeless time …
infinitely timed ..
in spaceless time.
About this poem
Have you ever wondered about the life journey and experiences of pebbles on a beach? How they came into being, how they were formed, where they have traveled, what oceans they may have crossed, how old the may be? All beaches have stories to tell; and their pebbles are a rich part of that story, not only for geologists, but also for anyone who has ever walked on a beach, or perhaps even collected pebbles from a beach.
