I have a lot to say-but not anymore

Lilli Dushane 2007 (Michigan)

I wish people would listen
But apparently I have too much to say

I try to talk to you
But then I’m in your way

I really wish someone would listen
But everyone acts like they care, when they really don’t

I cry myself to sleep,
Because now everything hurts

And I don’t mean physical, I mean mentally it HURTS
Holding myself back, afraid of being cursed

To never have a friend,
destined to be alone

Stuck forever with my pain and heartache
Now my hearts literally breaking

And nothing can ever fix it
Now that I’ve hidden my true self away

I don’t have anything to say anymore
But NOW people say they’ll listen

About this poem

I wrote this poem about my mental health, and how it feels like no one even cares about what I have to say
