The Dusk and Dawn
You always seemed so close yet you were so far.
To me, you were to the dawn and I the dusk
You woke when the sun arouse while I wake when the moon shows.
My dearest dawn to be with you would cost me my first and last breath.
For our devotion may never be.
You are gone but my heart is still with you.
Dear Dawn, I'll never forget you as long as my flesh remains.
To the fire, you'll always burn bright
To the all-encompassing chill, you'll be there forever.
Some of the best of our times we'll never share.
And they were never ours alone.
Day's order forbade us, for how will I be with one as powerful as you?
Your crowned heart is laid out for a man who day and night have chosen
My dawn please leave with me so I might say a silent goodbye.
'Dusk they say that there's no time for tears
Yet all around, our aching hearts weep
For how may a princess love someone like me?
