If I were a butterfly

If I were a butterfly and able to fly for thousands of miles.
I would go to China to see the great Chinese wall.
A wall created to divide, protect, and is now for recall.
But as a butterfly no border will apply.
I would go to new Zealand, to experience the romantic green home of hobbits.
I would go north to see the northern lights.
I would go to the Maldives, to experience the beaches before they vanish into the sea.
I would go to Hawaii, to see real volcanos, and to experience the Hawaiian welcoming culture.
If I were a butterfly, and my time had arrived,
I would go to Mount Everest.
Well-knowing that it would be my last stop,
as my little body would not make it to the top.
Yes, if I were a butterfly, I would be free to go,
but If I were a butterfly, I would have never known.
