The City of Peace
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
For it shall come to pass,
Upon the latter days;
The mountains shall amass,
Fire will set them ablaze.
The Lord shall be on it,
Lifted above the hills;
Nations shall flow down it,
Destroying all their ills.
Many people shall go,
To go up the mountain;
To where the waters flow,
And quench in their fountain.
God may teach us His ways,
As to walk in His path;
No longer one who strays,
To detour from His wrath.
Out of Zion shall go,
The precepts of the Lord;
His Word that we should know,
And never be ignored.
He shall judge all nations,
And shall decide disputes;
Creating new foundations,
Setting new attributes.
No longer to learn war,
Their swords into plowshares;
And spears will be no more,
No longer traps or snares.
Let us walk in the light,
In the House of the Lord;
And doing what is right,
While in one accord.
