"I didn't know"

Tamar Ingleton 2002 (North Carolina)

God, I am thankful for Jesus Christ,
and I am now reborn by his light!
But I didn’t know my spirit laid perishing in the night.

I am thankful you provide me with physical food,
but I didn’t know my spirit starved for spiritual food.

I am thankful for eyes which see your glorious creations,
but I didn’t know my soul was attacked by unseen situations.

I am thankful you gave me a brain to think,
but I didn’t know my soul was ill with ignorance.

I am thankful you gave me hands and feet,
but I didn’t know it was leading my soul to defeat.

I am thankful you gave me a fine heart,
but I didn’t know it infected my soul with sins.

I am thankful you provide me with clothes to wear,
but I didn’t know it was a sackcloth my soul had to bear.

I am thankful I have ears which work,
but I didn’t know my spirit wanted your words.

I am thankful I have a home for comfort,
but I didn’t know my spirit craved solace.

But now you give my soul wine and bread,
so as long as I’m with Christ I am spiritually fed,
and we celebrated together because despair is dead.

As long as I’m with Christ you'll give me panoply,
and we celebrated together because I’ll resist the enemy.

As long as I’m with Christ you’ll lend me your hand,
and we celebrated together because I’ll learn with “the Lord”.

As long as I’m with Christ I’ll submit my hands and feet,
and we celebrated together because my reward is surely sweet.

As long as I’m with Christ I’ll purify my heart,
and we celebrated together because my poisons will perish.

As long as I’m with Christ you’ll give me robes of mercy,
and we celebrated together because I am displayed as worthy.

As long as I’m with Christ I’ll accept your voice,
and we celebrated together because I’m the savior’s sheep.

As long as I’m with Christ you’ll give me solace,
and we celebrated together because I’ll have a home,
in the new heavens and new earth.

From the kindness of my heart to be reborn is to have a saving faith in Jesus Christ. I also compared sins to poisons and furthermore “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). I am also sharing with you all four more important bible verses which are Matthew 16:24-27. Finally keep your focus on Jesus
