Who is She?
She finds herself receding to a place she has not seen.
She has herself secluded, where the world feels like a dream.
She feels alone and out of sorts.
In a depth she thought long gone.
The struggles of her past resurface and her heart feels all alone.
The depths of darkness and fear.
The shadows unawakened yet near.
The longing for so much more
Yet knowing nothing lies in store.
She hopes for a brighter future. She cries for God to change her.
But instead she hears silence…and the chains of sadness restrain her.
Smiles mask the tears.
Laughter shields the pain.
It seems like there’s no answer or God ignores the cries each day.
She wants to be made whole. On the inside not just the out. She longs to be complete. Not just a shell who walks without.
Maybe one day they’ll notice.
The day the breath ends.
Maybe then someone will consider this person as a friend.
They think the strength is resilience.
They think that it’s resolve.
When all it truly is, is a sad girl who loudly withdraws.
From being hurt or getting close or knowing how to be. She often feels inadequate or nothing.
She is often me.
