Two Ways
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Bless those who walks not in counsel,
Of the wicked nor with sinners;
They are the culture to cancel,
Against righteous discipliners.
Evil is sitting with the scoffers,
Their delight is not in the Law;
It is pleasure that they offer,
Not worrying about a flaw.
Delight in the Law of the Lord,
Meditate on it night and day;
And remaining in one accord,
Continue to trust and obey.
He is like a tree by a stream,
In its season that yields its fruit,
As its leaves capture a sunbeam,
Water nourishing through its root.
All of its leaves will not wither,
In all that it does will flourish;
No matter about the weather,
Knowing that the Lord will nourish.
The ungodly wicked not so,
They are like chaff that the wind drives,
Wherever the wind that might blow,
Catching the righteous where one thrives.
Therefore the wicked will not stand,
As the ungodly in judgment;
Nor the sinners that may demand,
The righteous in causing torment.
The Lord will always know the way,
Of the righteous that they cherish;
That they never will go astray,
But the wicked ways will perish.
