Inspiration Peak

Treetops cower over the valley.
Sunlight glistening,
winter slowly arriving.
Falling leaves of the autumnal season,
turning several colors,
the coldness is abruptly coming.
Forty-degree temperatures,
but only until ten in the morning.
Warm seventies until nine in the evening.
Civilians find the view beautiful
as if they were looking at their lover.
All-the-while,
I see the view as a warning.
Changing seasons,
cold atmospheric nights,
heaters on full blast.
You can see winter arriving,
very, very fast.
