Moving On

We pass each other,
quite frequently.
Hallways,
football games,
on the road.
You still,
somehow,
are able to smile at me.
You gently wave,
as if nothing happened.
Forever and ever,
until the end.
We made a promise,
and we broke it...
but yet still care about each other.
Thank you,
for getting over yourself,
moving on as I need to myself,
growing better as a person.
In another life,
maybe...
until then,
I'll never forget you.

About this poem

Forgetting someone who you loved can be hard, but you have to remember that they are growing as a person constantly.
