Where did you go?

November, three years back
Has it really been that long?
Left to wander this faint dirt track
Was that really my swan song?

One conversation in all that time
I cannot help but build regret
I do not want you to be mine
I am just so happy we met

I do not even know where you are
But I hope you are glowing
Because you are my memoir
A forever pain showing

I do but wonder
If we met again how would it be?
Do I go back under?
Or do we build a silk tree?

Call me a masochist
But the pain means you are still there
No need for an acid mist
To remove the compressed air

A perpetual mirage of us
Will never leave my side
Like an illusion
My love to you is forever tied
