Heidi, I'd choose you.

If I had to choose just one more thing to see, I'd see you.
Your golden hair, your gleaming eyes, your perfect face, your enticing lips.
You. All of you.

If I had to choose just one more thing to smell,
I'd smell you.
I'd breathe you in and hold you inside me. I'd never let it out. I'd never let it go.

If I had to choose just one more thing to hear.
I'd hear you.
Your laugh. Your voice. A sound more intoxicating, exciting and pacifying than any Angels most beautiful song.

If I had to choose just one more thing to touch.
I'd touch you.
Savouring every inch. Everything you see as an imperfection, to me perfection. I wouldn't change a thing. To change such beauty would make the Gods weep.

If I had to choose just one more thing to taste.
I'd taste you.
I'd taste your lips. Your very essence. I'd greedily gulp you down like a dying man drowning in the finest wine.

If I had to choose just one more thing.
I'd choose you.

About this poem

Earlier this year I became very ill. After 6 weeks in hospital I was moved to a nursing home as I was unable to go home as I'd lost the use of my legs. I was scared, anxious and lonely. Then I met her. The most beautiful woman I had ever seen in all my 51 years. Her personality matches perfectly her face. She hasn't just saved my life. She has given me much more. She has given me a life. I wrote this for her.
