BUS RIDES AND MELANCHOLY

IDES AND MELANCHOLY
I’ve developed a love/hate relationship with buses
Yes, that contraption carrying people in masses
At one hand, it gets me to places I need to be
On the other, it takes me back to “you and me”

A typical trip for me, takes an hour or two
Just enough time for thoughts about me and you
Sometimes I wish the wheels would go faster
So I could force myself to stop the ponder

But just like what happened back then
I took this bus and let go of the helm
I have given fate the power to steer
When I should’ve took over when we started to veer

Now I am trapped in this wayward motion
While you are traveling in the opposite direction
I know I have realized it too late
But never again will I leave my destination to fate
