NIGHT TRAIN

A ghostly whistle breaks the silence
Of a lonesome fog-bound night,
The night train rides the rails to Hell
Until the onset of daylight.

A mouldy corpse is the conductor
A greying skeleton drives the train,
And if the living dare to step aboard
They will never get off again.

The night train is a steam train
Leaving a trail of black, lethal smoke,
It kills all creatures passing near
Some burning, but most just choke.

Its wheels screech on rusty metal
Sounding like evil banshee cries,
Scaring away all living creatures
Still out in the dead of night.

Mummies and hideous corpses
Ride along this abominable track,
Zombies, ghouls, and vampires know
That there is no coming back.

Skeletal warriors are aboard
After fighting battles long ago,
Riding on the train of death
To an afterlife unknown.

Drifters, whistlers, Babadook
All travel upon the night train,
All hoping somehow to escape
But the Bugler plays a sad refrain.

The night train is coming your way
It'll pass your town ever so soon,
So stay safe inside after twilight
Don't wander out beneath the moon.

THE END
