Gently they whispered

& so the tree limbs gently whispered,

bear not absence of due faith,

& know that even the strongest & most noble of men,

have once wept & trembled before us,

If only I would have seen the piercing sun cut through the dawn air,

& but only once greeted its gracious touch,

without the salt of yesterday's deepest regrets upon my tongue,

then perhaps I would know the reason for my own madness,

& the cumbersome itch of my unwelcomed anger.

About this poem

I can't exactly place the range of emotions that I was stricken with when I wrote this, but I do know that I tried to place beauty in what I would consider a rather melancholic sounding piece.
