The Chef's Life Samples

JosephCGuess 1983 (Little Rock,AR)

the chef
has many flavors
for today...

first flavor
tastes too salty
and bitter
on an island
surrounded by
nothing but envy
when every wave
is plenty
gets bigger by
every thought
of hate
with no validation
of why?
Flavor of Hate

second flavor
is spicy and hot
I admit it was
a perfect display
gracing that plate
making it look so good
it's only purpose
for the mirror is
to tempt and tease
make your
conversation freeze
incarcerate your eyes
a false advertisement
of lies
attempting your head
to rise
didn't even know it's name
just as quick as it tasted
hah...my mouth
lost all respect
Flavor of Lust

third flavor
is so sweet
with a lot of taste
that made
most close their eyes
in their face
umm..."they sounded"
if we only had a piece
of that pie
in the sky
all our problems
would disappear
consumed by
a materialistic world
asking the rich person
why didn't you tell me
I wasted most of my life
chasing a lie
I'm so rich but
I still feel normal inside
creating a boredom
for my new desires
Flavor of Greed

fourth and final flavor
was not too salty
spicy or sweet
was just right
but always
was not enough
some say,"it tasted too light
Chef said,"alright, this is organic"
I call this flavor
Flavor of Authencity

Chef asks everyone
which flavor is the best
know which one they picked
most picked flavor of greed
Chef shook his head
saying,"everything that tastes good
isn't good for you"
and he abruptly
threw away every flavor
except...
Flavor of Authencity
saying,"either you except
this flavor
or none at all
