Planting Seeds

Little boys who enjoy,
The planting of seeds.
Seldom become
Responsible men and fathers.
To know what it takes to await and see,
Their crops to harvest and grow.
Or nourish them to keep flourished.

'How on Earth,
Did you manage to get...
Such outstanding plants.
From seeds to bloom.
And flourish the way they have like that?'

'Lots of patience, determination.
And time to sacrifice,
My expertise in dunking balls.
In any convenient,
Playground around easily found.'

'OH.
I think you misunderstood me.'

'There was a time I admit I didn't.
But now, these days,
I have no regrets I did.'

'No regrets?
No regrets of doing what?'

'Being a doting and watchful farmer.
Ensuring my seeds to plant,
Become the best of crops...
Anyone, anywhere can harvest.'

'That's too deep for me!'

'It takes protecting the roots.
And a partner that is...
Both patient and tolerant,
Of what can be produced...
With unrelenting vigilance!'

'You know I am talking about your plants?'

'Of course.
What else would you be talking about,
To notice?'

'I've got to go.
To get in a game or two!'

'Cover your moves.
Or you will wish you had.
Like many seed planters,
Eventually do.
To refusing the knowing,
Of the crops they sowed.
Although...
Bragging about seeds,
They left to implant.
On ground playing around to leave.'

'You're a strange dude, my brutha!'

'Thank you.'

'I didn't mean that as a compliment.'

'No problem.
I didn't suspect to detect it was!
