POLICE STATE OF THE NATION

Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)

The fascists in America
Say now we’re triple-A,
But all the people living here
And working here are slaves.
The Yank and Jap tourists
Have all come flooding back,
They say, “This is the place to be”
We say, “You’re full of crap!”

The Pommie parasites all cheer
The republic’s dead and gone,
But to those living, working here
It’s a trial just carrying on.
The Fuhrer says the debt is paid
As he brings in another review,
He says, “The money floods in now!”
But it goes to the same small few.

They say this is the land of plenty
Though most of us have none,
They say that things are moving now
Though for most the race is run.
The Yankees think we’re on the move
Though it's mainly interstate,
Jeffy says, “We’re in the groove!”
But it all seems a great mistake!

About this poem

It amazes and depresses me how when an evil tyrant gets into power -- be it Robert Mugabe, Jeff Kennett, or Crazy Joe Belchy Peterson -- no-one interstate or overseas gives a damn about the plight of those of us living under the evil feeb's totalitarian rule.
