The Singing Mother

I had a mother who sang to me,
Songs of faith and songs of grace,
Holiness spelt in every word,
Words of God sweetly rendered.

I had a mother who played the violin,
And sang songs of praise and glory,
For His goodness and blessings,
Sweetly sung with the violin strings.

I had a mother who played the Zeraphena,
The beats that give a heavenly tone,
Love of God through sound of music,
Lasting inspiration to the soul.

You may have truncats of wealth untold,
Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold,
Richer than I you can never be-
I had a mother who sang to me.
